Thanks for your interest in the People’s Experience Group (PEG) at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research (OxICPTR)!
We believe that involving people with lived experience (PwLE), and their carers, in the training of healthcare professionals is essential to providing quality, impactful healthcare services. The PEG is committed to doing just this.
The PEG is made up a people with a wide range of lived experiences of using mental health services, and/or caring for someone who does, from across the Thames Valley Region (and beyond).
PEG members attend quarterly online meetings, as well as getting involved in all aspects of OxICPTR’s work, including attending committee meetings, interview panels, research projects, teaching activities and co-producing reports and publications.
Who can join the PEG?
Anyone with lived experience of using mental health services, or caring for someone who does, in the Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire areas can join the PEG.
All we ask is that you:
· Have an interest in mental health and psychology
· Are keen to use your lived experience to improve services and training
· Can work effectively with a diverse group of people with lived and professional expertise
We particularly welcome expressions of interest from young people with experience of using CAHMS, people with learning disabilities and/or autism and people from minoritised groups.
