Tracy McAteer

Tracy McAteer joined the institute in March 2018 and is the Head of operations for the Oxford Centre for Psychological Health, of which OXICPTR is a part. She is a member of the Senior Management team and her main responsibilities include:

· Contributing to the strategic development of the centre

· Operationalisation of the senior management team vision with regards to administrative systems and processes, including Human Resources and Finance

· Business Development

· Leadership and line management of all members of the administrative and professional services staff team within the Centre and its constituent parts

· Monitoring of leave reporting and mandatory training of Trainee Clinical Psychologists

· Responsible for educational quality assurance and leading the process for submission, marking and presentation at the Board of Examiners (BoE) of formal university course assessments as the official BoE secretary

· Oversight of information management, health & safety and governance within the centre

· Key role in relating to the organizational partners Oxford Health and the University of Oxford and external stakeholder bodies including Health Education England, British Psychological Society and Health and Care Professions Council regarding financial and operational issues and quality assurance monitoring/accreditation

Tracy started her career in legal accountancy with a number of solicitor practices in Devon. She then joined Reuters Financial Information, initially as a bond analyst and later as the Global metadata coordinator for Europe, Middle East and Africa. A move to Vodafone followed where she started as an IT data analyst, progressing to the role of UK Customer Data Control Manager with specialist knowledge of the Data Protection Act and data quality.

She then took a career break during which gained a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and a MRes in Psychology, whilst also working with the Oxford Forensic Psychology service as a research assistant and at Oxford Health NHS FT as a mental health support worker on the acute wards and crisis day centre. She has also taught on ‘Psychosocial aspects of care’ and ‘Applied social sciences for health care professionals’ at both foundation and undergraduate level and was an A level examiner for Psychology for a number of years. She is a graduate member of the British Psychological Society and an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Tracy returned to management through a number of roles at Oxford Brookes University including Babylab coordinator, Finance officer, Osteopathy teaching clinics coordinator, Partnerships and placement manager and Institute manager of the Oxford Institute for Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Research (OxINMAHR - a partnership between the two Oxfordshire NHS Trusts, HEETV, The University of Oxford and Oxford Brookes University under the Oxford Academic Health Science Centre).

Tracy has a passion for staff and student wellbeing and strives to create a mentally healthy workplace whilst leading and managing change and innovation.

Tracy has a passion for learning and has recently completed her Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Level 7 Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship with the University of Hertfordshire alongside her full time role, and has been awarded Charted Manager status and is now a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).
