Systemic Academic Tutor & Course Tutor
Clinical Psychologist and Systemic Psychotherapist
ROLE
I work alongside the Systemic lead in all aspect of the development and delivery of the Systemic stream, in addition to course tutor, and research supervisor roles for Trainee Clinical Psychologists. I currently develop, organise and contribute to delivery of the curriculum for working with people affected by Intellectual Disability.
TEACHING
I teach on multiple areas of the programme including systemic, people affected by Intellectual Disability, Professional Issues and Leadership streams. I provide systemic supervision and consultation to Trainee and qualified Clinical Psychologists. I have previously taught on the UCL, Salomons and Southampton DClinPsyc Courses. I was a research tutor on the Systemic Masters at the Tavistock.
PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS
I am an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, member of the Division of Clinical Psychology and the Faculty for People with Intellectual Disabilities. I am a member of Association of Family Therapy, and am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy, as well as the Health & Care Professions Council.
I have worked with the Faculty for People with Intellectual Disabilities and co-authored national guidance on Dementia in People with Intellectual Disability. I am currently working with the Division of Clinical Psychology on guidance for psychologists on working with death and dying.
I have worked in the NHS since 2003 within a range of mental health services and settings, including early intervention with psychosis, adults affected by intellectual disabilities, adult mental health (secondary care, assertive outreach & family therapy services) older adults, and child and adolescent mental health teams.
I work clinically in a family therapy service for children, and adolescents, and in a dermatology clinic.
