Roberta McGuinness

I am currently in my first year of training at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology. My first placement is in the Healthy Aging and Memory Assessment Service at the Stantonbury Health Centre.

Prior to training, I completed my BSc in Psychology at the University of Birmingham. I worked in a variety of settings, including as a Senior Assistant Psychologist in an Adult Learning Disability Team and as a Research Assistant investigating risk profiles for dissociation in young people. I have also had the opportunity to work alongside Experts by Experience to support the development of psychological services – I remain passionate about advocating for the inclusion of people with lived experience to aid the development of responsive, inclusive care.

My current clinical interests include community psychology, child and adolescent mental health, and trauma-informed care. I look forward to gaining experience across the lifespan and am keen to further develop my research competencies while on training.
