Roberta Fichera

I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist part of the 2023 cohort at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training. Prior to training, I completed my bachelor’s and integrated master’s degree in Psychology at University College London (UCL). As part of my master’s degree, I completed research placements in the Neuroscience and Psychology departments at UCL and conducted an audit and service evaluation at Whittington Health NHS IAPT service. After graduating, I worked as a Research Assistant at South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust in a randomised-controlled trial (RCT) investigating the effectiveness of MBCT in treatment-resistant depression within IAPT. I also worked as a Senior Assistant Psychologist in an NHS Secondary Care Psychological Services team in North East London (NELFT) supporting working age adults experiencing complex mental health problems. I am particularly interested in psychosis, trauma, the role of stigma in mental health, and improving access to services. I am looking forward to gaining experience across different settings and with varied patient groups on placements, and to develop my own therapeutic style as I progress through training.
