ROLE

Dr Reena Vohora is an Academic Tutor, Course Tutor and EDI Lead. Reena supports the planning and co-ordination of the academic programme for trainees. She is co-chair of the Access and Outreach group on the DClinPsy and has supported the Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Race Equality Network since 2018.

Reena is a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist and has experience of clinically supervising trainees at masters and doctoral levels in relation to both research and clinical practice.

Reena contributes to a range of diversity forums across NHS Trusts and University departments. She has also taken a lead role in the delivery of a mentoring scheme for aspiring clinical psychologists from diverse ethnic backgrounds.

Reena is registered with the HCPC and is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society (BPS). She has also been a member of the BPS conference committee.

TEACHING ON THE COURSE

Reena is responsible for the co-ordination of the older adults stream and equality, diversity, inclusion teaching on the course. She teaches on a range of topics including issues relating to clinical skills, professional practice, self-care, compassion, well-being and resilience, diversity and inclusion and evidence based psychological interventions for individuals with cognitive impairments.

PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS

Reena began working in the NHS in 2005 and has worked in a range of inpatient, rehabilitation and community based mental health services and settings. Her work has included work with individuals, couples, families and teams. Reena works clinically with adults alongside her role on the course. She also delivers regular mental health awareness sessions across a range of settings.

Reena’s specialist interests include working in the areas of cognitive impairment, neuro-rehabilitation, considering compassion, well-being and resilience across the lifespan, supporting families and carers and also, eating disorders and physical exercise. She is interested in working from a Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy perspective with individuals and family members, as well as delivering team training and interventions to support well-being.

Reena’s work has also included co-ordinating events for services and delivering training on well-being, working with cognitive impairment and cultural considerations in academic, clinical and media settings.
