Pavithra Kumar

I am a trainee clinical psychologist on the 2025–2028 DClinPsy programme, with particular interests in complex trauma, the psychological impact of hospitalisation, and improving access to psychological services for individuals from minoritized ethnic backgrounds.
I completed my BSc (Hons) in Psychology (Applied) at Heriot-Watt University, followed by an MSc in Applied Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath. Before commencing doctoral training, some of the roles I held were that of a research assistant and assistant psychologist.
My clinical and research experiences have strengthened my commitment to delivering compassionate, evidence-based care and to addressing inequalities in mental health provision.
