Nithura Sivarajah

I am currently a first-year trainee at the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training. My first placement is at an adults' and older adults' community mental health service (AMHT/CMHT) in Slough.

Previous Qualifications:

Prior to training, I completed my BSc in Psychology, MSc in Early Interventions in Psychosis, PgCert in Low Intensity Cognitive Behavioural Interventions, PgDip in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and PgCert in Behavioural Couples Therapy.

Professional Interests:

In my most recent years, I worked as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Behavioural Couples therapist. I am looking forward to learning more about CBT and its application for diverse client populations and various clinical presentations. I am particularly interested in working with psychosis.

Over the past year, I worked as the perinatal team lead at an IAPT service in central London and am keen on learning more about how to increase access and engagement for perinatal clients and other specific client groups who are at high risk of developing mental health difficulties.

Over the past 3 years I have worked with clients presenting with co-morbid physical and mental health concerns. I am interested in being part of growing research and clinical practice where parity of esteem guides future policies in the wider health care system.
