Lynsey Dorn

I joined the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research in 2023 and am currently placed with an Acute Liaison Mental Health Service in Northamptonshire. Previous Experience I completed a BSc in Psychology at City, University of London in 2017 and an MSc in Mental Health Studies at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King’s College London in 2018. Following my studies, I worked as a Research Assistant for the IoPPN with the Resilience, Ethnicity and Adolescent Mental Health (REACH) Study, investigating the impact of social, psychological, and biological risk and protective factors on the occurrence and persistence of mental health problems over time in a large, ethnically diverse cohort of adolescents. In 2021, I began working as a Senior Assistant Psychologist with the Psychological Professions Network, a regional membership network commissioned by NHS England that brings together all psychological professionals, aspiring psychological professionals, experts by experience and stakeholders. Prior to training, I also worked as a Senior Assistant Psychologist with the Maternal Mental Health Service in Buckinghamshire, supporting people experiencing mental health difficulties related to pregnancy, childbirth, birth trauma and the loss of a baby. Research and Clinical Interests My current interests include child and adolescent mental health, perinatal mental health, complex trauma, neurodiversity, and public mental health.
