Louise is a senior research tutor at OXICPTR, with responsibility for organising the research components of the Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

Louise is also a consultant clinical psychologist in the Oxford Early Intervention in Psychosis Service and an honorary senior research fellow in the Department of Psychiatry. She is a chartered psychologist and a BABCP accredited cognitive behaviour therapist.

Her research interests include understanding the development of psychotic symptoms in young people, cognitive behavioural therapies for psychosis, and early intervention and prevention of severe mental illness. Some of her previous research with young people at risk of developing psychosis has contributed to understanding the development of psychotic symptoms. Her research in developing and evaluating cognitive behavioural therapies for clients with psychosis has included novel approaches for negative symptoms, and a new Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) group intervention. Her current research includes supporting parents with a mental illness and developing tailored approaches to promote the emotional health of children and young people, before the onset of mental ill health.

Louise is also passionate about the delivery of therapies and services within the NHS. She was one of the founding members of the OASIS service (Outreach And Support In South London) for young people with an At Risk Mental State. During her time working at South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Foundation Trust, she played a key role in the implementation of the Voices Clinic and the Psychological Interventions Clinic for outpatients with Psychosis (PICuP), and was project lead for the SLaM Psychosis IAPT-SMI Demonstration Site.
