TRAINEE CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST
WHAT I DO I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist at OxICPTR. In my first year of training, I worked in an acute inpatient mental health unit and a Memory Service.
PROFESSIONAL INTERESTS Prior to clinical training, I worked as a Research Assistant in neuropsychology, CAMHS, and forensic settings. I worked with a Lead Clinical Neuropsychologist to help develop a client-rated wellbeing measure for individuals with neurological conditions. I also worked on a large scale RCT of Mentalisation-Based Treatment (MBT) for individuals with a diagnosis of ‘antisocial personality disorder’, based at the Anna Freud Centre but working across 13 NHS sites. Lastly, before starting clinical training, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist in CAMHS.
These experiences have shaped my interests and I am particularly keen on pursuing a career in clinical neuropsychology. My DClinPsy research projects are around assessing non-linguistic functioning in people with psot-stroke aphasia, improving the detection of traumatic brain injury (TBI) in people with a spinal injury, and assessing how social cognition is impacted after brain injury, including how this affects relationships with family members.
I am also the BPS Division of Neuropsychology Pre-Qualification Representative.
