Joanna Adams

Jo Adams completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Royal Holloway, University of London in 2009. On qualification, Jo joined a tier three child and adolescent mental health service in Oxford, where she worked as a full-time clinical psychologist with children, young people and their families across a range of presenting difficulties. In 2012, Jo joined the Doctoral Programme in Clinical Psychology at the University of Bath, as a clinical tutor and lead for CAMHS training alongside her clinical role in Oxford. Since 2016, Jo has worked in the specialist Child and Adolescent Eating Disorder Service (CAEDS) in Oxfordshire, as well as working as an independent practitioner in private practice providing psychological therapy to children, young people and their families. She joined the Oxford Centre for Psychological Health in 2019 where her role spans both the Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research and the Oxford Cognitive Therapy Centre, leading on training and supervision within child and adolescent mental health.
Jo has particular clinical and research interests in adolescent development in the context of mental health difficulties and physical illness, and in working with hard to engage young people.
