I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist in the September 2025 cohort. I completed a 4-year BSc Psychology with Professional Placement Year at Cardiff University. I did my undergraduate placement at Cardiff Women’s Aid and after my degree I continued to work within third and public sector organisations in services and projects linked to similar themes of Violence against Women and Girls/Intimate Partner Violence.
I later worked as a Project Manager for The Open University in Wales where I coordinated and managed research projects with academics across the UK. My role focussed on developing co-produced research, public engagement and communicating research impact. Additionally, I was involved in knowledge exchange with policymakers to create evidence informed UK public policies.
More recently and prior to training, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist for Veterans’ NHS Wales (specialist outpatient therapies service for UK military veterans experiencing a military-related mental health difficulties). I predominantly supported clinical work with PTSD, Complex-PTSD and Depression but I also delivered guided self-help for Binge Eating Disorder and supported a group therapy for General Anxiety Disorder.
My research and clinical interests are still developing, which is part of why I am excited to be on the Doctorate course, but I am generally drawn to topics linked to trauma-focussed and informed practice, gender inequalities and discrimination, self-identity and the development and use of formulation in clinical practice.
