Francis Madden

I am a first year Trainee Clinical Psychologist currently on a year-long split placement between Talking Therapies Berkshire (IAPT) and the Windsor and Maidenhead Older People's Mental Health Service (OPMH).

Prior to training, I completed my undergraduate degree in Psychological and Behavioural Sciences at the University of Cambridge (2020), where my research project explored emotional processing in subclinical paranoia. I then undertook an MSc in Developmental Psychology and Clinical Practice at UCL/The Anna Freud Centre (2022), where I researched adolescent male suicidal ideation on a peer support app.

My previous clinical experience was primarily as an honorary assistant psychologist in Wandsworth CAMHS, Southwest London. My role encompassed assessments, family consultations and neurodevelopmental screening. I also worked for the Anna Freud School Support Service to provide CBT-based guided self-help to adolescents with anxiety and low mood.

Outside of training, I am passionate about widening access to clinical psychology and Oxbridge via social media.
