Frances Ryan

I joined the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training in 2022. I took an alternate route into clinical training after my undergraduate in English Literature. Roles in children's social care & the third sector highlighted the inequalities underpinning our mental healthcare system.

I went on to complete a conversion course while working as a Youth Engagement & Safeguarding Manager for a disability charity before acting as an Assistant Psychologist in a Tier 3 CAMHS service.

My current placement is split between an Older Adults Community Mental Health Team & IAPT for adults of a working age in Buckinghamshire.

Current professional interests: CAMHS, attachment, complex & developmental trauma, stigma, youth work & community support systems, access & inclusion to services & selective mutism.
