Emily completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the University of Hull in 2016. Since qualifying she has worked in London-based child and adolescent mental health services and social care early intervention support teams. Emily started her role at the Oxford Clinical Psychology Doctoral course in March 2022, where she is a course tutor in the clinical team. She has also recently joined the Oxford CAMHS team where her role will focus on developing the access pathway and early intervention support systems, improving joint working across services, and building links with the wider community.
Emily is passionate about improving access to mental health care and supporting services across sectors to work together to ensure that no one ‘falls through the gaps’ or receives inappropriate, fragmented or stigmatising care. She feels strongly about the value of early intervention and of recognising and supporting the whole system around a child. She is particularly interested in meaningful co-production, being proactive in reaching out to members of our communities whose voices often go unheard and recognising the existing and potential strengths of our communities to provide meaningful and creative support alongside traditional NHS and social care services.
