Prior to training, I worked as an Assistant Psychologist with children and young people and as a Clinical Research Fellow. I believe in a pluralistic approach to psychotherapy, and I am passionate about systemic work. I graduated from Abertay University with a degree in 'Psychology and Counselling'. For my research project, I focused on better understanding sexual orientation phenomena. I then undertook a master's programme in 'Children and Young People's Mental Health: Psychological Approaches' at the University of Edinburgh. My thesis explored nurses' perspective of psychological provision in palliative care. I am currently a member of the BPS Equality Diversity and Inclusion board. I previously served as chair of the BPS Student Committee and the SWLSTG NHS Trust LGBTQIA+ Staff Network. In my roles, I focused on entry barriers to psychology and curriculum decolonisation. I am dedicated to promoting independent advocacy and participation services for young people, advancing patient and staff wellbeing as well as making the profession accessible to everyone.
