Catherine Turvey

I am a first year trainee on the Oxford Doctorate of Clinical Psychology course. I graduated with a BSc in Psychology at the University of Warwick, and went on to gain my MA in Psychology and Education. My special interests are neurodiversity, psychosis, trauma, and anxiety disorders. I have experience of working as an Assistant Psychologist in a CAMHS service, working 1:1 with children and young people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties. I have also co-facilitated an OCD Group for parents and young people. I have experience of delivering CBT and DBT informed interventions, and I’m interested in learning more about other third-wave approaches such as CFT and ACT. In addition to my therapeutic practice, I have undertaken service development activities during my time as an Assistant Psychologist with the West Midlands Cancer Alliance. This involved improving psychological services and reducing health inequalities for those living with and beyond cancer across the West Midlands. Qualifying as a Clinical Psychologist has been a goal of mine since graduating from university. I’m excited to continue my developmental journey as a reflective practitioner which will enable me to deliver an even more effective service to patients.
