Dr Canan Bektas is a Clinical Psychologist. She works as a course tutor and is a member of the academic team. She is also co-lead for the Access & Outreach project.
Canan has a broad range of clinical experiences, and her interests include working with complex trauma, substance use and ‘personality disorder’ related concerns in adult populations. Canan has worked in various NHS mental health care settings, including talking therapy and crisis mental health services. Alongside her academic role, Canan currently also works in an NHS health & homelessness inclusion team, and privately with adult populations. She is keen to support services improve access to mental health care for marginalised populations.
