Annabel completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology here in Oxford in 2014. On qualification she took up a new position in Children’s Psychological Medicine at the Oxford Children’s Hospital. Annabel developed and is the lead for the psychological provision in the paediatric gastroenterology service. Annabel works therapeutically with children and adolescents with a wide range of psychological presentations related to physical health across inpatient and outpatient settings. She also set up and coordinates the program of undergraduate psychology placements in Children’s Psychological Medicine.
Annabel is actively involved with research related to child and adolescent physical health and psychological well-being, as well as health-related stigma, and the impact of physical illness within families.
Since qualifying, Annabel remained involved with the Oxford Clinical Psychology doctoral programme as both a placement and research supervisor, and joined the team as a course tutor within the clinical team in September 2024.
