I am a Trainee Clinical Psychologist (2024-2027), currently working within Talking Therapies in the Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. Prior to starting training, I completed my PhD at the University of Bath (2020-2023), funded by the NIHR and supervised by Drs Michelle St Clair, Charlotte Dack and Professor Yvonne Wren. I co-developed and piloted a new online wellbeing programme for children with Developmental Language Disorder, using the Person-Based Approach to intervention development. The intervention (PLUTO) focussed on childhood anxiety and emotion dysregulation, as well as parent wellbeing. Following my PhD I worked as a postdoctoral researcher on an online peer-support group for autistic young people: the Autism Transition to Adulthood Group (with Dr Kate Cooper and Professors Will Mandy and Ailsa Russell). Before starting my PhD, I completed my BSc in Psychology (2011-2014) at Durham University, and my MSc in Development and Health Psychology (2017-2018) at the University of Amsterdam. I worked briefly in tobacco policy research at Yale University, before beginning my work in more clinically-focussed research at Kings College London. I was a research assistant for two main projects, (1) the evaluation of a community intervention for maternal mental health, (2) a large randomised controlled trial for online cognitive therapy for PTSD (STOP-PTSD intervention, with Professors Anke Ehlers and David Clark). During this time, I also had the pleasure of working for the Helen Bamber Foundation as an honorary assistant psychologist, working with asylum seekers. I am keen to remain open minded to new client groups and research ideas, however I enter training with particular interests in PTSD, working with asylum seekers, and co-developing therapies with neurodivergent people, to enhance accessibility and relevance.
