Prior to training, I completed my bachelor’s degree in Psychology at the American University of Beirut. I then worked as an Assistant Psychologist/Research Assistant with the Department of Psychiatry at Mount Lebanon Hospital. I went on to complete my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Sciences at University College London (UCL). My dissertation focused on trauma and the neural correlates of intrusive memories where I learned to conduct fMRI analysis under the supervision of Dr James Bisby.
During my master’s placement I worked as an Honorary Assistant Psychologist in the IAPT service at the Bethlem Royal Hospital in Croydon. I later worked as a senior Assistant Psychologist/Research Assistant at The Chelsea Psychology Clinic in London where I triaged clients, implemented an outcome measures system for the clinic, and managed a team of Assistant Psychologists.
Following this, I took a year off and free-lanced for an LGBTQ+ start up where I remotely conducted research on the barriers queer individuals experience to accessing sexual healthcare. I used the flexibility to travel around South America, Europe, and Africa before moving to Oxford to begin my journey training.
My research interests lie broadly in trauma and in intrusive imagery. I’m passionate about working towards increasing cultural diversity and inclusion in the field of clinical psychology and developing my therapeutic style as I progress through training.
