I joined the Oxford Institute of Clinical Psychology Training and Research in 2023. Currently I am based in Aylesbury where I am embarking on my first placement with Buckinghamshire Talking Therapies.
BACKGROUND
I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Bath during which I had a placement year with West London NHS Trust. Whilst there I worked alongside community mental health services as well as the local recovery college where I co-produced a pilot mindfulness group. I also championed trauma-informed care initiatives within the Trust including through developing and evaluating trauma-informed care training for tri-borough staff. Additionally, I worked within the Hounslow cognitive impairment and dementia service where I facilitated groups for older adults with dementia and 1:1 sessions on CBT strategies for carers. I have applied my interests in dementia care to other settings including working closely with a Worcestershire based GP practice to make the practice dementia-friendly in line with King’s Fund recommendations.
As an Assistant Psychologist for You Matter, a mental health and well-being hub for health and social care staff in Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire, I supported staff with a range of difficulties through assessment and development of care plans. In addition, I provided wellbeing coaching as part of a University of Oxford research programme to develop accessible evidence-based treatment for frontline staff with depression and PTSD.
My recent experience prior to starting the training programme has been as an Assistant Psychologist for a neuropsychology service in Staffordshire under Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This role allowed me to develop my skills in neuropsychological assessment and formulation as well as the provision of psychoeducational and rehabilitation sessions for individuals with cognitive difficulties.
CLINICAL INTERESTS
My clinical interests include trauma, complex trauma and trauma-informed care as well as neuropsychology, physical health psychology, and sexual health. I look forward to expanding my interests within doctoral training.
