Saarim Aslam

"Pre-training, I completed my BSc in Psychology at the University of Leicester. I then went on to work as a Research Assistant at the University of Bath, working on a variety of research projects exploring adolescent, adult and older adult mental health. Following this experience, I worked as a support worker for the mental health charity Mind on a peer support project.

I also spent approximately one year as an Assistant Psychologist in an Early Intervention in Psychosis service, primarily providing a carer wellbeing intervention to carers of psychosis, focusing on psychoeducation and stress and anxiety management. My final role before starting clinical training was as a Research Assistant at UCL on the AVATAR2 RCT Trial. I mainly conducted assessments for voice-hearing, delusions, negative symptoms, trauma and mood and anxiety-related difficulties.

I am starting my first placement in a working-age adult CMHT/IPT service, where I’ll be providing assessment, formulation and intervention for a range of mental health difficulties."
